Assistant Chief Education Officer

Stembiso Grant is a dedicated educator and leader with a career spanning over two decades in the field of education. After earning a Trained Teacher Certificate from Cyril Potter College of Education in 1999, she laid the foundation for her extensive work in teaching and educational management. Ms. Grant furthered her academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology from the University of Guyana in 2005. Her commitment to professional growth continued with a Certificate in Education Management in 2008, and she completed a Master of Education in Management and Supervision at the University of Guyana in 2010. From 1997 to 2010, Ms. Grant served as a classroom teacher, inspiring students and fostering a love of learning within her classroom. Recognized for her effective teaching and leadership skills, she transitioned into an administrative role as Education Officer 2 at the Ministry of Education, a position she held from 2010 to 2021. She later functioned as Regional Education Officer for District #4. Ms. Grant is very instrumental in planning and facilitating capacity-building programs for teachers and educational officers. She provided valuable advice to the Regional Democratic Council on education-related policies and organized activities that instilled a spirit of volunteerism, national pride, and the development of healthy social behaviors among children.
