The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Guyana, currently Mr. Saddam Hussain, has been instrumental in advancing literacy across the country. He oversees the implementation of educational policies aimed at improving literacy rates, ensuring that schools are well-managed and that teachers receive the necessary training to support effective literacy instruction. The CEO also plays a critical role in curriculum development, focusing on enhancing reading and writing skills, and in the administration of national assessments, which are designed to measure and improve student literacy outcomes throughout Guyana.
